Complete Maras Moray half day tour itinerary
Between 8:25 and 9:00 a.m., one of our staff members will pick you up at your accommodation in Cusco to meet you with your guide and take us in our transportation to the town of Chinchero, where our first point of visit will be the textile factory. Here, a magnificent experience awaits us, where we will learn the process of weaving each garment, and the dyeing of alpaca wool using organic material. While we learn about this interesting process, we will taste a warm coca leaf infusion.
Our second point to visit will be the archaeological site of Moray, well known for its amphitheater-shaped terraces, designed to experiment with crops in different microclimates, being faithful proof of advanced Inca engineering.
To conclude our tour, we will head towards the district of Maras, where the famous salt mines are located, creating a wonderful landscape spectacle between the mountains, rivers and salt mines. These wells are extracted by the inhabitants themselves, and thus, they can be sold in different forms, such as cooking salt, bath salts, etc.
We will return to the city of Cusco at approximately 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., leaving you near the Plaza de Armas.
